Lighthouse Point is located on the St. Lucie River. There are approximately 210 homes , and most of the homes have canal frontage, although some are on the St. Lucie River.
The voluntary Home Owners Association provides a regular schedule of social events.
Lighthouse Point began as a vacation retreat area, with 2 bedroom homes that were designed to be affordable to the price conscientious, retired “snowbirds.” Copies of old advertisements offer a completely finished waterfront home for as low as $12,900!
During the last 15 years the demographics of the neighborhood, and the homes themselves, have changed dramatically. Younger couples, with children, and those seeking a larger waterfront home, have been moving in and expanding or renovating the homes.
Martin County Utilities has recently installed county sewers which is expected to bring about a tremendous increase in not only the size of the homes, but the prices of vacant lots and existing homes as well.
